JURY‘S DECISION MAX OPHÜLS PREIS
The film's success lies in its sensitive imagery and storytelling as it portrays the genocide. The young director shows an incredible instinct, finding fitting questions and protagonists to reflect the tragedy and trauma of this country. The intense images create a sometimes intimate atmosphere virtually robbing us of our fear. The editing is subtle and unobtrusive, immersing the viewer in the pain of the young africans.
